Crash at the begining of the usteady flow simulation
Crash at the begining of the usteady flow simulation
(OP)
Hello, I am Romuald and I am looking for advices with unsteady flow simulation.
Here is my problem. I am runing my first unsteady flow simulation but it crashes right at the begining of the unsteady flow simulation. The only error message is (+STOP! Error in the time window). I really don't understand what the problem could be as the begining of the simulation fits with the begining of the flow hydrograph. I simplified my geometry data so there is no bridge or storage or anything and I put a initial flowrate to avoid the channel to go dry.
Thanks for any comments and possibilities of error made at this step.
Regards.

Sorry, I forgot to write that my question is about HEC-RAS.

I found a response to the problem, so it could probably help you.
It comes from the date format in windows vista (or whatever). Mine was in french so I just had to switch it to english in the control panel, and then everything works finely.
I had a probem quite similar when rasmapper chrashed because of german typo (Umlaut). HEC-RAS is not a commercial software so there is very little effort made with compatibility.

Thanks for the feedback, it was the same problem as yours...Now it worked fine...Thank you very much, you are a life saver :)
