Humidity of Electrode Storage Room?

Humidity of Electrode Storage Room?

Humidity of Electrode Storage Room?

(OP)
What is recommended RH (Relative Humidity) of the electrode storage room?
We are recording 60 to 70% RH with ambient temperature 35C to 40C.
We have some old written procedure that requires RH should be less than 40%. It further says if RH is over 40%, then do dehumidification unless RH is lowered down to 40%.
Any advice please?

RE: Humidity of Electrode Storage Room?

Totally wrong forum- welding forum is better.

RE: Humidity of Electrode Storage Room?

Maximum 50% relative humidity at 35 to 40 deg C room temperature based on several audits I have attended with boiler manufacturers. My best advice is to check with the welding consumable suppliers.

RE: Humidity of Electrode Storage Room?

What counts - if the opened SMAW (stick) rods are in an oven at the proper temperature (well over 100 C!!) and the unopened SMAW rods are in their original sealed containers - is the temperature inside the ovens.
