why american companis are not sponsoring green cards
(OP)
hi! Folks
this is my issue here. i am an electrical engineer from Argentina and i have several years of experience in power engineering specially in power machines (synchronous and induction motors and generators) and i found that Siemens, GE or Alstom in USA are not sponsoring for green card. The GE case is more significantly because they have an hispanic community and they say that they invoke the pluralism in the workplace or as the other ones they say they are 'Equal Opportunity Employers'
Could you tell me if this is what is happening in reality or i am searching in the wrong way? or you have other ways to look for american companies that sponsor green card
Please tell me any suggestion, they will be all welcomed
Thanx
Juan

The companies that are most likely to hire in the US are companies that need people with a physical location in the US. Like the local utilities.
It's a pain for us to, because you call these companies and they want to sell equipment made for 50 Hz. Or try to convence your boss you need to do a factory visit in (Insert several international locations). Also there are differences in standards between the ANSI and IEC, so it become hard to compare products. As well as the language differences (Even from here to England).

BTW @ jref - are you based in cream city, under the light of the polish moon?

That's how I got my green card. My ex is an RN so she didn't have to go through the labor certification process and I got my green card as the dependent spouse. My company (I was on a TN visa) was very interested in sponsoring me through the green card process plus it was just easier have my ex being the primary green card applicant.

There are only a few differences in our languages, but it is just enough to disrupt the flow of reading a well written instruction manual or power system book. I don't know why "earthing" just dosen't flow as well as "grounding" to me.
As far as factory tours, there are locations in the US that would not look good to the State Public Utilities Commission (can you say sin city). Some how it seems we can only visit factorys in places you would not want to take a vacation in.
Maybe there needs to be consultants that only do factory tours, and send in reports. Which I have hired a consultant to do just that, because I did not want to travel to Des Moines, for three days to do a one hour inspection.
So there is a job, just do factory visits for international cliants.
