RH Albert Pre-Eng Steel Buildings

Sign on PEMB at ridge says “Steel R.H. Albert” on the left side and “BLDGS. & Co. LTD.” on the right side. The building is about 40 years old and was supplied from/to Western or Northern Canada.

Does anyone have any information about this fabricator?

Try Google??

RE: RH Albert Pre-Eng Steel Buildings

And what do you expect to find anyhow? Let's say you Google them and get a phone number. You'll call them and the guy (or girl) you talk to sees this as a lot of work for no money. Or maybe there's some liability issue? "The records are lost... we changed hands... the building burned down... etc."
When you deal with existing PEMBs, you're pretty much on your own, sailing into uncharted waters.

Google provides no clues... 'try Google' at times is about as good as RTFM...

MikeTheEngineer...I'm sure you've read many of dik's posts. If he asks a question, it is after he has exhausted every resource he has at his disposal. He's not a newbie...he's "old school" as am I, so we are used to getting things done for ourselves as are you...but occasionally, we run into walls...we will then beat our heads against the wall for a while, but eventually will ask for assistance to knock the wall down! We have awfully hard heads and tend to beat down most walls, but occasionally....

dik...sorry, but can't help. I have run into similar in the past couple of years with defunct PEMB fabricators. Check corporate ownership streams if available as many of these were absorbed by others over the years. I have one from the 60's I'm currently chasing.

RE: RH Albert Pre-Eng Steel Buildings

Just a thought. For Canadian buildings you might check with CSSBI and see whether they have any lists of historical fabricators. Don't know that they do, but they serve somewhat the same mission in Canada that MBMA does in the US.

I hadn't considered the CSSBI... and will check if they have a 'Historical List'... thanks, ajh1... and thanks, Ron... you did help...

RE: RH Albert Pre-Eng Steel Buildings

Sorry - I don't keep track of who puts up postings - I am not that smart or have that kind of time. If Google can't find it - you are probably screwed. And a 40 year PEMB without a mfg still in business - good luck!!!!

In addition, most of the PEMB mfgs suggest that their buildings are good for 20 years or so. If it is 40 years old ---- all I can say - "GOOD LUCK"

RE: RH Albert Pre-Eng Steel Buildings

I have heard of the R.H. Albert steel building. I believe they manufactured a small, frameless steel building. I seem to recall that they were located in Edmonton, Alberta. I don't believe they are still in business but someone else may have taken over under a different name.
