MTO for U/G and A/G cable system
MTO for U/G and A/G cable system
(OP)
Hi all I'm a new instrument engineer and a new employee in EPC company.
This is my first time to prepare MTO&QTO for cable system such as
cable length , type of cable , Q'ty of JB and tray and support . Since I've never
done for this job and no experience so this is my challenge .
I was studying about API552 RP regarding Signal transmission but
still have unclear so far cause I would like the people who can guide me to quick
point out the importance of the step taken in cable system. Now I find out how to
estimate cable length by manual using plot plan layout,is it correct ?
Cable tray if this project require cable trench and direct buries how can I prepare the cable support
or any fitting as well as A/G cable can I use punch tray or cable duct ?
Thank you for your kind guidance...

RE: MTO for U/G and A/G cable system
Your cables, trays, conduit runs, JBs, terminations, etc. always follow your I/O count and location of field devices. Plot a few things out on their plot plans and begin thinking about the material and quantities it will take to hook them up. If you're using communication protocol(s), you won't need near as much wire, terminations, JB's, etc. If you're going wireless, you'll have a much easier time. Figure out what you're doing first then develop a plan.
I, personally, wouldn't bury anything.
Details matter.
Good luck!
