refinery gases

refinery gases

(OP)
hello
i m a dcs operator in an small simple distillation and fractionation based oil refinery
we have tow natural draught refinery gas furnaces. we are using solvent lighters as a refinery gass
the problm we are facing is that before the furnaces we have a knock out vessel presure maintianing 43 psi thorugh natural gass and refinery gass
tube skin temperature of furnaces is the main problem as it exced from the hi limit 1290 deg F
what i observe is when i closed the natural gas control valve before the knock out vessel pressure decreased from 43 psi to 35 psi aftr a while and tube skin temperature dec to 1000 deg F but the furnace process valve decrease from 542 deg F to 530 deg F whch is not acceptable. the solven stripper pressure maintained at 53 psi .any one can guide me how can i tuned my plant as it runs only on refinery gasses???

RE: refinery gases

Do you have a PFD or sketch to describe your system?

RE: refinery gases

When you shut off the supplemental fuel gas and the pressure drops and the energy input drops too? Sounds like you are not getting enough fuel into the furnace to me.
