EPANET Extended Period Simulation

EPANET Extended Period Simulation

(OP)
I am running an Extended Period Simulation in EPANet, where I have tank that should be filled by pumps. It seems that the pumps will only pump into the tank once it reaches it minimium level, meaning they don't fill the tank during the 12 hours they are on unless the tank is "empty." In other words the pumps only seem to be responding to the demands and EPANet doesn't put a demand at the tank unless it at the minimum level. Does anyone know if this is true and if there is a work around?

RE: EPANET Extended Period Simulation

So I'm assuming the tank starts off at full volume, or at least above the minimum stage? Have you checked the demand within your system? Could it be that the demand is exceeding the pump delivery volume, thus requiring water to be drawn from the tank, as well? Without seeing how your system is set up it's kind-of hard to tell. Have you set up any patterns? Maybe trying some different demands and/or turning off a few pipes to drop demand might indicate whether-or-not this is the culprit.
