NX6-TC8 "save as" to existing item

NX6-TC8 "save as" to existing item

(OP)
We have many Pro/E parts and drawings and I would like to know how to "save as" an NX6 part/drawing as the next item rev of an existing item. For example, I have an existing item with an item rev "A" that has Pro/E datasets. I would like to "save as" an NX part/drawing to that item as item rev "B". The workaround has been to rev the item in TC, delete the Pro/E datasets and then try to open the item rev in NX. NX would then prompt for a start template. This forces the use of an empty start template that needs to be modeled/drawn from scratch. Another work around is to rev the item in TC, delete the Pro/E datasets, export the NX part/drawing outside of TC then import it back into the empty item rev which is the long way around the barn. Is there a way to do this?
