(OP)
Dear All,

I have been trying to simulate non linear contact analysis on spur gears to find the contact stresses, von misses stresses, displacement and transmission error.

I have positioned 4 reference points at the center of the gears with one reference point on each side. I have fixed all the DOF(s) for my slave gear and allowed for 1 DOF to be free on my master gear.

These reference points are also coupled to their respective surfaces through kinematic coupling. For the boundary condition, i selected systematic/encastre as the boundary condition.

I seem to be doing something wrong as the following error message is displayed,. What could it be?

in keyword *MONITOR, file "Job-1.inp", line 8692: Unknown assembly set _PICKEDSET58

Node set assembly__pickedset58 has not been defined

Unable to locate node set assembly__pickedset58. The node set must have been previously defined.

Node number given for *monitor does not exist

Analysis Input File Processor exited with an error.

I would also like to set and input torque as the load for my master gear. Moments seem to produce more errors than solutions? Any other solutions you guys might suggest?

thank you for your time and effort.
