what are the differences between short pattern and venturi pattern plug valves?

Short Pattern - Page 11
Regular Pattern - Page 13
Venturi Pattern - Page 15

For this Manufacturer:
The Short Pattern appear to be limited to 2" to 6"
The Regular Pattern appears to be from 6" to 12"
The Venturi Pattern appears to be 15" to 36"

Size for size the basic difference in the Face-to-Face dimension is the change to the angle of the inlet and outlet which in turn affects an increased or decreased Flow Restriction.

I know their face to face are not equal.in terms of pressure drop and flow capacity,is there any difference?
