FLUTTER

Hi guys!

I'm working on flutter phenomena. Does anyone know anything about that ?! I have a big problem with that !!

RE: FLUTTER

I'm pretty sure that the best place to start is the author's preface.

RE: FLUTTER

flutter is divergent aeroelastic. surely you can get some hits in google with some obivous search terms ... like "flutter" ...

It'll kill ya!

Thank you guys !!

Is there anyone here who has ever made a flutter model in PATRAN/NASTRAN ?!

RE: FLUTTER

starting at post #1, going directly onto post #2 is IMHO pretty dangerous. I'd suggest some pretty heavy "book hitting" before proceeding onto modelling in NASTRAN (or any other code !).

what are you looking at ? a wing, and empennage, an antenna ?

Thanks guys !! your suggestion was really helpful !!

I just wanna model a simple sandwich beam & then evaluate its flutter velocity !

Here I faced to 2 problems :

1. How can I evaluate the other modes for my beam ? because I think that NASTRAN/PATRAN just check the 1st mode for flutter, doesn't it ?! Please let me know if I'm wrong !

2. Which mode does flutter usually happen in sandwich beams in ?

I really got confused !!! Please help me !!!

Thank you all in advance.glasses

RE: FLUTTER

Are you sure you mean flutter? Or do you mean vibration/natural frequency or some such?

For use of a specific computer package you may want to find the relevant forum, should be able to get there from below link.

Yes !! I'm sure. That's flutter and flutter velocity & frequency .

I want to model it in PATRAN/ NASTRAN!
