NX6- Revolve closed loop

NX6- Revolve closed loop

NX6- Revolve closed loop

(OP)
Help - I am new to NX6, I created a fully constrained closed loop in a sketch, I attempted to revolve it around a line, and was told that it had to be within -360 to plus 360 degrees and that it was more than 360 even though I specified 360. Eventually it dropped that message (after multiple attempts) and actually (semi-)generated the desired solid (transparent) when I hit preview, but said that I had to enter a profile, and when I hit OK anyway, the solid disappeared. It only progressed to this point when I specified two sided. Now I am stuck.

RE: NX6- Revolve closed loop

Please provide either a sample part with the profile or at least a picture of what it is that you're attempting to do.

I finally got it to work. Still not sure how. Partly, it made a difference when I set it to an interference fit. When I made the revolve all by itself, it worked immediately. Getting it to wrap around another part, it would appear correctly but transparent. When I hit OK, it disappeared and said something about entering a profile.

RE: NX6- Revolve closed loop

Unless you're actually in the 'Electrical Terminal' business, this seems to be a lot of effort for what's ostensibly a simple 'purchased part'.

Partly, I used this as a learning opportunity. Secondly, I expected to be able to knock it out in an hour (ha). I have gained a better understanding of using the Mesh tool, and have figured out some things about Revolve.
Not that it has anything to do with creating it, but it is far from a simple part. When I called TE Connectivity (AMP Incorporated), they offered to send me a sample; however, then they found that they do not stock it. It is radiation resistant. The insulation is good to 302 F, and will stand up to several MegaRADs. Thanks for responding.
