RE: air release valve installed before doemstic water meter - 1/2"

Hi Baram,

Please do not post the same question in more than one forum. Double posting creates confusion when replies start coming in two different places (see Forum Policies).

If you feel it necessary to ask two groups, you should choose one thread for your replies, and post a link to that thread in the other one or two, so that everyone will be seeing the same thread.

Since you are a relatively new member, I've included the link to your other post in the Valve Engineering forum here: http://eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=327730

Good on ya,

Goober Dave

Many firms make air release valves. You can probably buy one from Grainger Supply.

Here is a link to Valmatic.

Don't understand why an air release is even needed for this application.

Hello DRWeig/bimer,

DRWeig, I am so sorry for this dublication and thank you for th advice.

bimer, this is special combination air valves which is being installed before domestic water meter , the domestic water meter is multijet type class B, this type of meters has internal plastic impeller which is rotated by water flow and it accounts the flow on glass register, in my application the water flow is non-continous that means 4 days water feeding per week and 3 days the pipline dry, the problem that when the municipality feed the system the water push air towards meter impller this air affect the meter accuracy that you positive consume or ngative consume (+ -) air bcause meter rotate as per first air push before water comes , also this air make damages for the meter impeller that is why we should install this specialized combination air valve before the meter, this air valve contains integrated plastic non-return valve in the outlet of air valve which open in 4 psi presssure so the air valve will release the air before it affects the meter. as we only need measuring the water consumption in accurate way. this valve should be 1/2" size

There is not anything particular unique about your application. Any air release valve will work in that application.

One would have to assume that you are talking about non-potable water as it will be difficult to maintain water quality with the water line draining and filling with air.

Hi bimer, you can see this video for one manufacturer but we can not deal with because of the origin boycott http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBui6vi8pxE&fea...
This is typically what I search for but from another manufacturer
