Class #400 air valves for clean water pipeline
Class #400 air valves for clean water pipeline
(OP)
Hello All,
Please note that I have waterworks application and there are some areas approx. 10 miles length with total elevation (-)620 meters, gravity pressurized line so the working pressure there exceed 60 bars of water pressure and we would like to fix some air release valve to eleminate the air pockets on each peak on this area. so please I need help if there are manufacturer who can supply air valves for such pressure as I have checked some and mostly manufacturer up to 40 bars, I need 63 bars or class #400 air valves.
Thank you all in advance.
Baram

I'd check first with Spirax Sarco, TLV and Armstrong. If they don't offer anything in that pressure, ask them for any suggestions who might. Since they work in that area they might have that information.

Spirax may not be a bad idea, and see also below link to the competitor Gestra (also worldwide, and at least the same range for high pressure items). Gestra is owned by Flowserve, but you need to go to the German homepage to get the most advanced technical leaflets (in english).
For high pressure air outlets the correct constructed and float operated steamtrap mounted and operated 'upside down' might do the job. Be sure to check with the factorys specialists for bothpossible allowed application and mounting! (Type UNA ?, available in PN63)
Pn40 for standard air release valves is no problem, and you will find several.
Before trying steamtraps, I would have contacted a couple of 'high pressure / SS - exotic material' producers that also supplies customer adapted solutions.
Try for instance GA-valves http://www.offshore-technology.com/contractors/val... (exotic materials, wide range, unable to check upper pressure range without contacting directly) or Mankenberg in Lübeck, Germany

I have checked Gestra range they speak about steam traps but my application is potable water and I ask for combination air valves, my water temprature from 25-40 C degree,
what you think?
Best Regards,
Baram

If I remember correctly, I have heard about float-operated steamtraps used as air outlets, but inverted. Check as adviced directly to be sure. Note: inside treatment acceptable to drinking water? SS- types should be available, or extra inside treatment necessary?

Think I possibly found what you need: http://www.armstronginternational.com/files/common...
