Changing the default material and default part color

Changing the default material and default part color

Using NX 8.02 and TC 9. How do we change the default material and color of parts from the steel density and steel blueish color to a grey aluminum color, and the aluminum density? We use Alum 99% of the time so it would be fantastic not to have to assign aluminum as the material every time we create a new part.

Also when you have created a part and you assign a new material, why doesn't the part color change to represent the new color? If my part is steel the default blue/grey color is ok, but a gold part should change to a gold yellow color, aluminum should be a light grey, etc.

Why do I need to use Edit Object Display to change the colors for something so easily automatically done in other cad packages like SW and SE?

RE: Changing the default material and default part color

The material assignment (Name and Density) and the appearance (Color) are NOT related to each other.

They should be...

So since they are not, how do I make the appearance a default color other than the gray?
