Pseudomones in sand filter

Pseudomones in sand filter

(OP)
Hi, I have problems with a sand filter / zeolite. change the filter bed two months ago and since then the filter has to count out pseudomonas aeruginosa. try soaking the bed with a solution of calcium hypochlorite and we are waiting for microbiological results. if not improve water quality need to know that another method of sanitization is effective that meets USP standards? our supplier tells us that if we use a solution of peracetic acid / peroxide can damage the zeolite is truth to that?

the residual chlorine to the filter input average is 1 ppm.

grateful,

RE: Pseudomones in sand filter

Very unusual to have sand and zeolite in the same unit. Usually, it is either a filter or a water softerner.

It is also not common to use zeolites for water treatment. Are you referring to water softener resin?

Any oxidizer will damage resin. The extent of the damage depends on the applied dose.
