Modeling Orifices in 1D Duct Flow in NX Advanced Simulation Thermal/Flow?

(OP)
I was wondering if anyone knew how to properly model a restrictor or orifice in the 1D duct flow mesh in the NX Thermal/Flow package.

I've tried doing it using a mesh with a smaller diameter acting as a restrictor, but the results do not match up with an existing result that was gathered through testing. I've also tried using the "contraction" modeling object, but still no luck.
