hi frndz,
im using ansys workbench. As im doing structral analysis an assembly in which i need one part of assembly to be rigid. As this cn be achieved if i giv young's modulous value very high as >>200 GPa. bt i dont knw how to do dis in workbench. or is thr any way to make own material file dat can be imported in workbench?????

RE: input new material properties in ansys workbench

You're going to want to edit the "Engineering Data" section of your module and add a new material. This is a very easy task to accomplish.

However, I would consider defining your part as a rigid body and applying legitimate material properties rather than "artificially" creating rigidity.

Your question suggests to me that you need to do further research on how ansys workbench (and ansys apdl, really) work and how to interact with them. A good starting point is here: http://www1.ansys.com/customer/content/documentati... , search for 'Engineering Data' to help answer your question in more detail.

I hope some of this is helpful to you.
