Selection of Curves to use in WRC 537 (WRC 107 with curve fits)

Selection of Curves to use in WRC 537 (WRC 107 with curve fits)

Selection of Curves to use in WRC 537 (WRC 107 with curve fits)

(OP)
Hello,

My company recently bought the books for WRC 537, which is identical to WRC 107, and I am familiarizing myself with the calculations.

My question is during the selection of Nx*T/P and Mx/P, ect...which graphs are appropriate to use? The table listed gives graphs for some standard dimensionless values of gamma and rho, but if the calculated values I have deviate slightly which graphs should I be using? Is it necessary to do interpolation between the graphs or to select the 'best' fit graph.

For example, if my value of gamma is 11, and my value of rho is 1.2, I would assume the best fit graph for a nozzle onto a hemi-head to be SP-5. Do i need to do some sort of interpolation between three other graphs? That would assume the values are linear between the different graphs, which I don't know is true or not.

If anybody has gone through the WRC calculations, I would appreciate some guidance on the values I need to select.

RE: Selection of Curves to use in WRC 537 (WRC 107 with curve fits)

do interpolation.
