How to convert to Unigraphics
How to convert to Unigraphics
(OP)
I am trying to send my SolidWorks files to another engineer but he only has Unigraphics. I was told there is a method to convert SolidWorks files into UG files but I am uncertain of the method to do so. If there is no way to directly convert it to UG would it be best to convert it to either IGES or STEP? I have also heard of doing Parasolid instead... Any thoughts?

SW can export or Save as many different formats.
RE: How to convert to Unigraphics
You will not be able to save your SWX file as a parametric UG file. Some programs can open another program's native file. I have not had the need for a while, but a few years ago I did have occasion to open several Pro/E files in SWX with good success. If you are really lucky the guy with UG will be able to open your SWX file, but I would not bank on it. He should not, however, have any trouble opening a dumb solid sent to him in a Parasolid format.

For an albeit, unfinished history of 'Unigraphics/Ideas/NX', may I suggest:
