HYSYS Simulation

HYSYS Simulation

(OP)
Hi,

I'm definitely new to HYSYS and other process simulation tools. I just have a question in HYSYS.. If I do want a sour water stripper with a caustic injection on it (this will entails having an equilibriun reaction between the NaOh and other components inside the stripper), should I still need to input reactions in the SIMULATION BASIS MANAGER or no need?

I will be using Sour Peng Robinson for my Fluid Package.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Christopher Kenneth Choa

RE: HYSYS Simulation

HYSYS wont do reactions unless you tell it the stochimetrics and the equlibrium. I think you can do the reactions in the reactor if you use this.

Thanks MortenA for the reply. But I do want to clarify things. The reaction is a reversible reaction by double displacement only.

Should I still have a reactor even if I'm building a plant without reactor?

Many Thanks for the reply.

RE: HYSYS Simulation

I'd check with Hysys technical support for an EOS recommendation, I don't think sour PR will do what you need it to do in terms of the caustic injection, pH and the effect on the stripping of H2S and/or ammonia.

Thanks TD2K,

I think I will add several reactions in the package environment first.
