Solidworks Fillet issues

Solidworks Fillet issues

Solidworks Fillet issues

(OP)
High guys I am trying to add a fillet and am having an issue getting the results I am looking for. The part is a flat part .750" thick and has a .785" dia through hole. I can add a fillet R.094" using the face fillet command, however, I am trying to add a partial R.094" to the top surface(for lack of better terms). I would like the radius to start .070" down from the surface. Essentially the R.094" fillet would be .070" down from the top surface and extend .031" from the edge of the through hole on the surface. I cant seem to figure it out so if anybody has some advice I would appreciate it. Version is 2009

Thanks
Jim

RE: Solidworks Fillet issues

I'm not sure if fillets can be offset from equal treatment of surfaces. You may be better off doing a revolved cut.

I thought about doing a revolved cut myself, however, the complete part has 54 through holes and the partial fillet feature is required top and bottom of the plate. Additionally the part is cylindrical in shape and very few of the through holes would be on the same plane to create a revolved cut. Any other ideas?

RE: Solidworks Fillet issues

The only idea I have, is to post the part so we can see exactly what you are trying to do ... and experiment with it.

RE: Solidworks Fillet issues

Create the hole feature with the radius using the revolved cut method, and then pattern that feature using the Sketch Pattern option. Repeat for the other size holes.
