switch for allowing command while continuing in a command

switch for allowing command while continuing in a command

(OP)
We just upgraded to 2012 AutoCAD.
Previously, I was able to start a move command and in the middle of the command, I could measure and immediately return to my move command where I left off. This worked with copy and all sorts of others.
Now everytime I try to start a command while currently in another command, the initial command gets cancelled.
Is there a switch that needs to be turned off or on to allow this?

Thank you for your time.

RE: switch for allowing command while continuing in a command

preceed the command with an apostrophe?
