HCL 36% pipe selection
HCL 36% pipe selection
(OP)
Hi all,
I’m working in an hydrochloric acid - facility (HCL 37% concentration) at 58C and 1035 KPa. I need to connect my tank to the existing piping.
I have two options to go: centrifugally cast fiberglass or FRP+PVC liner. Dont really have gidelines from Client.
Both vendors are offering the “best product” for the application.
Has anyone had precedent experience (good or bad) with such or similar stream/materials?
Thanks a lot,

If the linesize is small (less than 3" NPS), stay away from the centrifugally cast FRP. The PVC with FRP overwrap is a better option for smaller linesizes. Make sure that the people doing the work are competent.
