Reverse Osmosis Plant Design ( water desalination)

Reverse Osmosis Plant Design ( water desalination)

Reverse Osmosis Plant Design ( water desalination)

(OP)
Hi,

I am a mech. eng. and I have to design water desalination plant (RO plant)

It is the first time for me to design RO plant so can you recommend a textbook or something helpful to read?

I will use cadix and rosa design tools but i want to read more about the design of RO plant and its related components.

Thanks

RE: Reverse Osmosis Plant Design ( water desalination)

I would suggest the following:

1) Start a search on the internet as suggested by the forum instructions

2) Come up with enough preliminary sizing information to prepare a conceptual design

3) Utilize a water treatment company to provide the actual unit

4) Start discussions with the various suppliers about the obtaining preliminary bids

Here is an example of a large scale project:

RE: Reverse Osmosis Plant Design ( water desalination)

Are you given any parameters with respect to what materials to use? I'd recommend you do some google searches with these words in the same subject line.

Copper Nickel galvanic corrosion
stainless steel stress corrosion
seawater corrosion
duplex 2205 galvanic
seawater scale
membrane scale

That's enough for starters.
