Seal To Verify Vacuum Integrity on VIP composite mold

Seal To Verify Vacuum Integrity on VIP composite mold

(OP)
I am attempting to test the integrity of the vacuum system "below" the mold surface; more specifically from the vacuum port on the open side of the mold, all the way to the first shut off valve at the vacuum pumps exit. Furthermore, the goal is to use a durable (not consumeable), clean (workers at factory do not have to clean the mold after I apply the seal). Current test procedures call for a vacuum bag with air seal tape to cover the vacuum port, however a mess-free easy to use seal is intended to speed the verification process and return to production.

Our two stage vacuum drops to 10 mBar (or less depending on seal integrity). Once the seal has stabilized at a level <50mBar, vacuum pump is sealed and shut off. Seals and vacuum line is to hold vacuum for 10 minutes allowing a 20 mbar increase over starting vacuum pressure.
