thread562-195396: HELICAL PROTRUSION ALONG A CURVE??
Hi ksudavid (Industrial),
I'm sorry to reopen the question about HELICAL PROTRUSION ALONG A CURVE. I've tried to wrap a sketch around a sweep surface but the tool accept only surfaces generated by cone, cylinder and torus. Any other kind of surfaces won't be selected from the "Wrap a Sketch" tool. What's wrong in my working flow? Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance
malube

Hi, is there anybody that can help me? thanks a lot

RE: HELICAL PROTRUSION ALONG A CURVE

I'm not sure if this would help but:

  1. Sketch the curve that will be the path
  2. Add the sketch that will be cross section of the helical protrusion on a perpendicular plane to the path
  3. Create the helical protrusion using a sweep feature
  4. In the sweep feature option go to the TWIST definition and define the helical properties number of turns or turns per length
You will end with something like the image below

Best regards
Diego
