Bridge analysis

Bridge analysis

Bridge analysis

(OP)
Hello guys.. I am new in Abaqus but I am running a 2D model of a bridge under lateral spreading. I want to get results for bending moments and shear forces in the deck and piers. Do you know which field outputs give these results? For example I thought that for bending moments SM is the right output but the results I am having from that don't seem right.

Thank you in advance.

Guys is there anyone that could help??

RE: Bridge analysis

I am also using SF/SM output; in my case results seem to be correct. You may pay attention to coordinate system orientation, and the results you are plotting.

Can you be a bit more specific?

RE: Bridge analysis

I meant that the SF/SM output seems to be the correct one. One reason for not having the results you expect could be plotting or reading the incorrect internal forces, i.e. instead of the longitudinal bending moment of the deck, the torsional moment; and so on.

FFFMMMAAA thanks fpr your answers. If I am reading the incorrect internal forces how can I change that? Cos the only SM that is available for reading is SM1. Can I check somehow?

RE: Bridge analysis

Sorry, I didn´t read you were doing a 2D analysis. I don´t know what your problem can be...
