Initial stress using SIGINI subroutine

Initial stress using SIGINI subroutine

(OP)
Dear All,

I had taken a very simple model e.g. a 2D element with 4 nodes, it is simply supported (bottom nodes are fixed) and would like to input an initial stress using *INITIAL CONDITIONS, TYPE=STRESS & SIGINI subroutine.

However when I run the program the element deformation occurs in the STEP and the final stress becomes zero. I would like to maintain the initial stress which I define till the end.

The initial stress can be maintained by fixing all nodes but I would like to achieve the same initial stress under simply supported conditions. How can I do this? Please advice

Regards, Arvind
