SWMM Modelling with pumps

SWMM Modelling with pumps

SWMM Modelling with pumps

(OP)
Greetings All,
I am a still a new user to the SWMM universe. Let me give you all the setup. I am designing the hydraulics for a small decentralized wastewater system that serves about 5 4-bedroom homes. The effluent flows into a 3000 gallon wet well where two same sized alternating pumps need to be modeled in SWMM.
There are four floats in the system. The bottom float is the “pump off” float, which will maintain water around and over the pump to aid with cooling. The second float is the “pump on” or “primary dosing timer engage” float, which will signal the start of dosing. The system will be activated to 1 dose (533 gallons) per hour for the primary dosing cycle. The dosing will continue until the water level drops to the “pump off” float. The third float is the “secondary dosing timer engage” float, which shall override the primary dosing cycle to 1 dose per 30 minutes until the redundant off float. The system will alternate pumps regardless of the cycle activated.
After being discharged from the wet well the effluent travels through a constructed wetland to the other side into a recirculation basin where only 20% goes on to the absorption field. That means that 80% is recycled back into the wet well to be treated once more by the constructed wetland.
I need to model the pumps in the wet well to determine my float elevations. I also need to model the recirculation basin.
Any and all ideas will be helpful. If you know of a good SWMM user group that I should use as well let me know.
Thanks.
