Can a USA spec TIG welder be hooked up in Europe?
Can a USA spec TIG welder be hooked up in Europe?
(OP)
I have a Lincoln 175 Squarewave TIG welder that is 240 single phase powered. Of course the unit converts the imput power to a lower voltage DC or AC (alum). The USA derives 240 by combining two hot legs, whereas Europe uses a 240 scheme that is very much like the US 120V scheme of a single 240 hot, return and ground.
Of course there is also the issue if having 50 Hz vs 60 Hz.
Is there any way to make this work, or do I just sell my unit here and get a new welder in Europe.

I'm guessing that they have the info you want on hand somewhere. They appear to have a large international sales and support network.
