Minimum Reinforcement for Beams in Etabs
Minimum Reinforcement for Beams in Etabs
(OP)
Hello,,
I am new to Etabs and I am just curious to know when designing slab on beams whether Etabs consider T-beam action automatically or should it be activated-in such case how do we do that?. i am also curious to know whether Etabs automatically enforces minimum steel reinforcement for beams? It seems that it does for column, but i am not sure whether it does for beams.
Thanks
P.

RE: Minimum Reinforcement for Beams in Etabs
On the minimum reinforcement area, ETABS uses the alternate (1.33 * As required) on all flexural designs and that is why you will see smaller reinforcement areas than 14/fy*bw*d (MKS units).
