what happened to the feature of setting WCS to a saved WCS. You used to be able to select (from pulldown menu) FORMAT, WCS, ORIENT, then pic SELECTED CYS, and pick a saved WCS and your WCS would go there, now it says the selected constraint is not valid or supported?

Another method is to use the 'offset' type CSYS:
Offset CSYS, reference Selected CSYS, select saved CSYS, and use offset values of zero.

RE: wcs
That is what I am doing, always have, but now i get that message, "the selected constraint is not valid or supported" ?

RE: wcs
Format -> WCS -> Orient -> Inferred
...works exactly as cowski has described using the latest releases of NX 6.0, NX 7.5 and NX 8.0 (as well as the yet to be finished NX 8.5) so I don't really see where the problem is.

I am on NX8.0.1.5
RE: wcs
Also, are you moving the WCS while in another command (such as while repositioning a component)?

see attached snapshot
RE: wcs
It will however move to the infered option you mentiond, but only once, then the option of picking Reference to selected csys goes away untill i restart UG?

It may be time to get GTAC involved...

RE: wcs
My next replay will include a video clip showing this same workflow using the 'Inferred' mode, again with no problems whatsoever.
BTW, you keep implying that this used to work the way you want it to. When exactly was that? What version of NX are you referring to when you say that?

RE: wcs
Yes it does the same on different files/workstations.
I am just curious if it is something in NX8, it worked fine for me in NX7 and prior.
John stated he tested in nx8 though.
Thanks
RE: wcs
go into your customer defaults -> Manufacturing -> Geometry -> Coordinate System
and verify that your settings are the way you want them to be.
There could be issues with linking the MCS.
RE: wcs
For what it's worth, I'm running NX 7.5.0.32.
