Macro Help

Macro Help

(OP)
Hi I need some advice with a problem I'm looking into at work. We generally do all of our design work using SW2012, which is a brilliant tool to use, and quite intuitive and user friendly, as I have, over the last year or so, learnt to use SW during my tea and lunch breaks, and can produce parts, assemblies and detail drawings with relative ease now. I have just started to look into SW macros to find a solution to this problem, but I realize I'm completely out of my depth.
Our problem is not so much with SW, but I hope SW will be able to provide a solution to it. We have certain parts manufactured by water cutting, and the company we use require the drawings to be in dxf format, so they can just download into the machine and away they go. Now I know it's possible to do a Save As in SW to produce the dxf file, but if there are any modifications to the original SW drawing the dxf file is not updated automatically. This has led to some of our customers ordering spare parts from us, which we then order from our manufacturers using the out dated .dxf files. As you can imagine this is very embarrassing, and something we need to avoid happening in the future.
I have found a macro that will produce a dxf file, with the same file name as the slddrw file, and I have created a toolbar button for it, and although this works ok, it still relies on some one clicking a button to activate it. I was hoping it would be possible to embed a macro into a particular slddrw master and have that kick off a Save As dxf when ever a normal save was instigated thus keeping the dxf file updated. If anyone has any ideas, or can point, nudge or give a hard shove in the general direction I would be very grateful.

RE: Macro Help

I use SWUPbb Lite from http://www.sloworks.fi/shop/category.php?id_catego... which can save pdf, dxf, dwg files every time you save the slddrw file. Automatic. Free.

Thanks Dan I've looked into the task scheduler for solid works, but this is only available for SW Pro and above, it's no use to me on Standard edition. Thanks anyway. Shaun.
