Ring in 3D beam elements

Ring in 3D beam elements

(OP)
Hello all,

I'm modeling a ring in 3D beam elements. I assembled the coils with an angle of 10° between them (with "rotate instance" and "merge instances").

ABAQUS doesn't caculate nothing from the moment the structure is not flat. I use a neo hookean model from the material and the beam sections are circulars.
My objective is to apply a radial displacement on the structure towards the center of the ring.

Do you have a solution to force ABAQUS to makes the calculation or an other method of modelling ?

Thank you.

Anaïs
