Stabilizing Resistor
Stabilizing Resistor
(OP)
I's trying to calculate the stabilizing resistor value for the earth fault protection relay. Following are the parameters used:
500KVA, 11kV/415V, 4.75% Z,
CT used: 800/1A, Class PX, lead resistance=7.46 ohm/km, lead length = 30m.
Can anyone forward an excel spreadsheet to calculate the stabilizing resistor for the earth fault relay?
Thanks

RE: Stabilizing Resistor
What you need now is CT impedance.
First of all see: thread238-201225: PX CT specification
As slavag here said:
"For secondary resistance you can use 0.6-1 Ohm for 5A
and about 5-7Ohm for 1A."
If you have CT resistance and lead resistance
see Relay Manf. Instructions. For instance ABB IRXm:[The IRXm relay]
