Soldier pile and lagging walls

Soldier pile and lagging walls

Soldier pile and lagging walls

(OP)
I'm in the process of designing a soldier pile and lagging retaining wall. I live on a small mountainous island in the Caribbean. The subsurface is cohesive clay, however bedrock is usually met at about 5ft so therefore the shafts will have to drilled. Also, the wall is to be permanent so concrete lagging will be ideal. Can anyone help my in finding resources that can help with the design in rock.

RE: Soldier pile and lagging walls

Since it is permanent and the backfill soils are cohesive, why not a cantilever retaining wall? For soldier beams and lagging literature, try searching for the 2011 version of "California Trenching and Shoring Manual". You will still need earth pressure and drilled pier parameters from a soils report.
