Analysis v2.04 by Cuylaerts

Analysis v2.04 by Cuylaerts

(OP)
Is anyone else using Analysis v2.04 by Cuylaerts (http://cuylaerts.net/)? Its a free "FEA" program for frames and trusses.

I keep getting an error message "Calculation is limited to 10 joints for this Demo." There is an example file with many more joints (nodes) which runs OK, so something seems a little strange (I can't see any flags in the example file that could enable more nodes).

When I try to contact Cuylaerts, my emails bounce.

Is anyone else using or tried this program, know of a work around, or know how to contact Cuylaerts?

Thanks,

Al.

RE: Analysis v2.04 by Cuylaerts

Good evening Sheeny,

I too have been trying unsuccessfully to email Frank Cuylaerts since July 9th.

I have only tried a small model with 5 joints - so I will try a bigger structure to check whether I get the same result as you.

Other issues I have encountered are:
I can read the help file on a Windows XP computer but not on a Windows 7 computer.
My small model was analysed satisfactorily but the demo software would only allow the input to be printed out (not the results).
I disagreed with some of the deflection limits and would have liked to have been able to edit them.
It was unclear to me if the Eurocode parameters, that vary between countries according to their National Annex, can be adjusted.
The member checks undertaken by the software are listed but the workings are not transparent.

Overall, I found the software very good and, depending on price, I would be interested in purchasing a license.

Good luck,

Jim O'Dore

The old windows help files can only be viewed in newer versions if you download the help program WinHlp32.exe from the microsoft download centre.
