ASME Sec.IX WPS

ASME Sec.IX WPS

ASME Sec.IX WPS

(OP)
Hi,

1. WPS & PQR are prepared as per ASME Sec.IX Ed. 2004.

a. Whether WPS prepared as per Ed.2004 can be submitted to Client for Approval in the Year 2012 without a change in WPS or we have to prepare a new WPS as per the current edition of ASME Sec.IX.

2.Is it required to submit the WPS's as per the current edition of ASME Sec.IX before submitting to Client or before using it in our ongoing Projects.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

RE: ASME Sec.IX WPS

Quality2479,
Review Paragraph QW 100.3 in ASME Sec IX.
Existing WPS', PQR's & WPQ's do not need to be amended to reflect the requirements of later Code editions except as noted in QW 420 where it discusses changes to P Number assignments. Suggest you review this paragraph also.
New WPS', PQR's & WPQ's must be generated and qualified in accordance with the current Code edition.
Of course your client may have more stringent requirements.
