Roof Truss

(OP)
Hi,
I am quite new to structure design. Recently I have been given a problem to design steel roof truss for a factory building. Do the end conditions will be considered as fixed or free? Will there be any horizontal reaction due to vertical loads on nodes?
Any one to comment as I considered no horizontal reactions in calculating member forces.

RE: Roof Truss

Hi,
The conventional way of analysis of trusses is by considering the support conditions as simply supported. Alternatively you have to detail your supports to simulate the simply supported behaviour.

hope this helps
