cannot delete end point from a previously deleted line

cannot delete end point from a previously deleted line

cannot delete end point from a previously deleted line

(OP)
I am trying to extrude a sketch I drew up and every time it tells me the sketch has unsuitable geometry. I went through and deleted any overlapping lines and closed off any gaps that were still laying around. However, though I have a feeling the reason for this is because of endpoints that were not deleted when previous lines were taken out. I have tried to delete the points but I get an error saying that it cannot be deleted. Anyone know how to solve this remedy?

RE: cannot delete end point from a previously deleted line

Use the 'selected contours' option in the extrude command and see what, if anything, it will let you extrude. This should help you find your issue.

RE: cannot delete end point from a previously deleted line

Have you tried deleting the complete sketch?

RE: cannot delete end point from a previously deleted line

A) You cannot delete endpoints in a sketch, only line segments and asterisk points.
B) could you possibly have what is known as "Zero Thickness Geometry"? The SWX Help does a good job of explaining this.
C) Can you post your model or sketch? Chances are someone will be able to very quickly identify the problem for you.

RE: cannot delete end point from a previously deleted line

Try running "tools\sketch tools\ check sketch for features.... (alt+S). I usually leave the feature usage as the default and just click check. It will check your sketch for a bunch of errors and usually will give you a zoom window of where the problem is.

RE: cannot delete end point from a previously deleted line

Sometimes I get these, but they're gone after I close and reopen the sketch.

The other possibility is an entity off in left field. Zoom all (shortcut = F) and select all to see if you have some fliers out there.
