Fatigue purpose welds for railway bridges.

Fatigue purpose welds for railway bridges.

Fatigue purpose welds for railway bridges.

(OP)
The Australian bridge code specifies fatigue purpose welds for detail category 71(transverse welds) and above, but only for railway bridges. This is regardless of the stresses acting in the detail (if you disregard the min stress in the code that allows you to ignore fatigue completely).

My question is: Are there any other codes that specify fatigue purpose welds for all railway bridge details regardless of stress, or is it limited to the Aussie code? I have had a look through Eurocode and and although the detail categories are identical, I can not find a requirement for more onerous welds for railway bridges as opposed to regular structures or bridges. Any info on the American approach would also be appreciated.
Thanks
