How to determine the # of heads in a branch line and # of brach line in a remote area?
(OP)
Hi guys,
I'm trying to determine how many heads ina remote area. For emample, 1500 sq.ft. remote area:
is it
- 1.2 x square root of 1500 = 46.48 ft (distance parallel to branch line)
- how do you determine the distance perpendicular to the branch line?
is this how you guys determine the remote area? Thanks in advance..

FIGURE A.22.4.4 Example of Determining the Number of
Sprinklers to Be Calculated.
You need to know the max spacing of the sprinkler based on the hazard as follows
Table 8.6.2.2.1(a) Protection Areas and Maximum Spacing of Standard Pendent and Upright Spray Sprinklers for Light Hazard

of Standard Pendent and Upright Spray Sprinklers for
Ordinary Hazard

Hazard
