RE: EOSD, CV,XV,ZV Valves

I think we are going to need some definitions.
a). "Can anyone explian in detail about the expansion" expansion of what?
b). EOSD?
c). CV?
d). XV?
e). ZV?

prognosis: Lead or Lag

RE: EOSD, CV,XV,ZV Valves

These look like ISA nomenclature for various type of valves possibly corrupted by the specific P&ID legend utilized.

EOSD - emergency operated shut-down ???
CV - control valve (normally procede by F, L, P etc for controlled variable)
XV - Manually operated or solenoid operated valve (depending on the nomenclature convention)
ZV- Miscellaneous valve (z being miscellaneous or axial)

There are too many varitions to name.

You have categorized these by function. Then there is another list of valve types:

Globe, plug, ball, butterfly, angle, etc which is equally important for the test shop.

Good luck!
