Manufacturing a Canadian CSA B51 vessel outside of Canada. How does inspection work ?
(OP)
Hi, we are an ASME U stamped shop located in the UK and we have received an enquiry for a U stamped vessel which must also adhere to CSA B51.
Can anyone advise me on how the inspection would work.
Do we have the fabrication and welding inspected by our ASME AI and then have the designs sent to a Canadian P.E. or does the fabrication and welding also need to be witnessed by a Canadian P.E.?
Would the Canadians issue a CRN after the design stage (before manufacture) or would it be issued afer the manufacture is completed ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Lee

Once the CRN is issued, the CRN number goes on the nameplate and the data report. This is then signed off by your AI.
