NX6: Holes in a cylinder

NX6: Holes in a cylinder

NX6: Holes in a cylinder

(OP)
Hi, im struggeling with the following problem.

I have a cylinder that i want to drill a series of holes in. The problem is that the number of holes are allmost hundred, and the holes have different diamter and positions on the z axis.
To keep the stress consentration down i want the holes as far as possible apart from each other.

So what ive got is a serie of hole diameters associated with a given Z coordinate relative to a datum plane. Is there any way of creating a series of holes along the cylinder with for instance 45 degree offset? To make it a bit more complicated the holes have to be counterbored, but the C-bore diameter and depth is constant.

help appreciated.

A little update. Im currently looking into the creation of points, on which ill later drill the holes. how i do it now is that i have a zero point, and i create other points with an cylindrical offset from this. the radius is constant, and the angle varies with 11.25 degrees increments and the delta z is defined from an excel sheet.
WHat i do now is to manually input, changing the angular offset and delta z value on each hole. How can you do this on all points using an excel file etc? The file contains angle and delta z values...

RE: NX6: Holes in a cylinder

try using Point Set - Face points
then use the points to create a Hole Feature
