Wheatstone Bridge Flow Meter

Wheatstone Bridge Flow Meter

Wheatstone Bridge Flow Meter

(OP)
Hi,
I'm just doing my thesis and was having trouble finding out information on the above mas flow meter.

If anyone could point me in the right direction of where I could find some info, that would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Tim

PS Thanks in advance

RE: Wheatstone Bridge Flow Meter

Whetstone bridge is a reference to a resistance circuit not specifically a reference to a flow measurement device. Many flow measurement devices make use of whetstone bridge measurements.

However I think if your reference is to measure flow of air, I think the reference may be to a hot wire anamomenter. This is where a hot device is cooled by the air flow. The difference in resistance due to different cooling rates is calibrated to result in an air flow measurement.

Dan,
Thank you for your reply,

The Wheatstone Bridge is the name given to the configuration of 4 orifice plates with the pump source in the centre. Very much in the vane of the resistance circuit that you refer to, or the more commonly known Wheatstone Bridge. Except where the orifice plates replace the resistors and the pump the power source.

In the particular application that I am looking at is the measurement of water.

At pressent I have very limited information, apart from the basic configuration. I am finding it extremely hard to find any more. Whether that be throught the Web, libraries or Discussion boards.

I hope that this makes my problem a little clearer.

Regards

Tim
