I have a project and I`m stuck. One of my employes have a melt shop with four (4) induction furnaces, 25 To each, all in line. What he wants to do is to build a ladle transfer-car for tapping. The problem is that he wants the transfer-car parallel to platform. Meaning one transfer-car for all four furnaces. My problem is that I have to calculate that the steel tap exact the bottom of the ladle when it`s start flowing, not the walls. Like in the pic. If u understand something, give me a hint. Thank you.

RE: project

It is very difficult to control the fall of metal ,when pouring directly from a furnace spout into a ladle or transfer car. The transfer line has to be parallel to the platform.

However, you can consider attaching a tundish to the spout of the furnace and then directing the metal to flow through it and fall at any desired location in the transfer car. This device can be a detachable one, which can be removed after tapping.

that would be so nice, but the problem is that the distance btw top of the furnace and ladle is max 1500 mm.
