Calculating C1 (relationship between Cv and Cg)

Hello All,

I am currently sizing a control valve for a gas application, I have the flow coefficients for the lower and upper bound cases, but I only have them in the unit of Cv . I need to convert theses values to Cg. C1= Cg /Cv .

How can I calculate C1? And what variables do I need?

Thanks in Advanced

Cg is a term only used by Fisher I believe. You will need to get one of their catalogues and look for the valve you are using. They will have the C1 value listed for the wide open position and if you want to check it for a partial % open, get the Cg ans Cv at the % open you are interested in and calculate it.
