Equal to or Better Than ASTM A575 document

Equal to or Better Than ASTM A575 document

(OP)
I am working on a DOD project that one of the material call outs is ASTM A575 Mechant Grade steel.
My main problem with this specification is that the size of round stock I need not readly available.
What I am looking for is an ASTM or governemt document that states that material per ASTM A576, Special Quality, is equal to or better than ASTM A575.
Best regards, David

RE: Equal to or Better Than ASTM A575 document

You may possibly ask the manufacturer of Steel ASTM A576 Special Quality to Certify that the product you purchase meets also all the requirements of ASTM A575.

OR go back and ask the DOD Project Engineer if an alternate material is permitted, and get it in writing.
